Meath Community Unit

Meath Community Unit was established in 1998 on the site of the former Meath Hospital, the site was developed to provide long-stay residential places to older people and to respond to the needs of the local community.
The Health Service Executive is responsible for the management and services at the unit.
Our Day Care service is situated on the ground floor caters for approximately 15 clients from the surrounding area. Day Care works in conjunction with the Residential service thereby promoting health and social interaction.
Various activities are shared e.g. Tai Chi, Drama, Music and Dance Therapy.
Meath Community Unit has a large activities facility where some of our entertainment and activities are provided.
Our Community Unit is situated in one of Dublin’s most historical areas of the city with its famous historical heritage, Christ Church, Wood Quay, Liberties, and Guinness etc.
Part of the area was redeveloped into affordable housing and parkland by the Iveagh Trust, the area now comprises a succession of pleasant and busy streets of shops, homes and small residences and apartments.
